In order to assist our Client's on a more personal level and not a blanketed solution, our PFT Pelvic Health Coaches administer behavior assessment screenings which will show cumulative habits that could be affecting your pelvic floor and the muscles. Your PFT Pelvic Heath Coach will be looking for habits you consider normal, yet actually encourage weakness or over development of your bladder or bowel muscles or dysfunction of pelvic floor muscles. Weakened or overdeveloped muscles retrain the bladder and bowels and lead to incontinence, retention or constipation. This screening is important to assist your PFT Pelvic Health Coach to share the best corrective daily solutions based on your current habits encouraging normal muscle function which will improve incontinence, retention and constipation.
Digestive Health is very important. Your PFT Pelvic Health Coach will teach how the digestive system works and what daily behaviors women practice that effect muscle function, increase body mass and increases overall stress to the skeletal system increasing risk of pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) and pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Your PFT Pelvic Health Coach will assist you to learn the importance of nutrient rich foods, necessity of fiber, how the digestive system talks to you, easy healthy shopping habits, ways to decrease processed and modified foods, how our food system has failed us and how restoration occurs to the entire body with a healthy digestive system.

How We Help
PFT Pelvic Health Coaches conduct important spine and pelvis alignment postural screening assessments for Clients. In order for the human body to function normal as a whole, it is imperative the spine and pelvis are in neutral during movement as often as possible in any posture to elicit normal synergy. This normal communication from the brain (central nervous system) to the muscle system decreases the risk of muscle imbalances and skeletal changes (scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, pelvic drops or rotations), Skeletal changes are caused from poor repeated movements, trauma or inherited conditions. Data collection from the postural alignment screening assist PFT Pelvic Health Coaches to share and teach corrective exercise and movement pattern modifications that are designed specifically to meet your needs to gain the best possible movement patterns. Improved movement throughout the joints of the body and skeletal system decreases pain and discomfort during any posture and activity. Improved skeletal and pelvis placement improves anatomical positioning of organs and organ function leading to improved overall health.
PFT Pelvic Health Coaches teach women how to Kegel. For many women they have been told "Just Kegel" for the answer to dysfunction of pelvic floor muscles, bladder and bowel function and the complaints of leakage, retention or pain. Unfortunately this is not the complete answer to retraining pelvic floor muscles. Posture, alignment, nutrients, healthy bathroom behaviors also play an integral role. Kegeling is an important component to regain normal functioning pelvic floor muscles but women are unaware they do them wrong and many notice their complaints increase. PFT Pelvic Health Coaches will help you assess if your habits are causing low or high tone pelvic floor muscles. Low tone (weak) or High tone (over developed and weak). Low tone muscles can be trained easier but a high tone individual has to learn to relax muscles prior to any contractions or relaxation of muscles.
