I want you to know that you are not alone. There is help for you!
We all have a journey. My professional wellness journey began more than 20 years ago when I started teaching group exercise. This journey has led me through many aspects of the wellness world, all of which I cherish and I have loved every second. I was introduced to Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (even though at the time I didn’t know what it was) many years ago while working at a local wellness facility. I noticed when I taught my group exercises classes many participants would leave in the middle of class to use the bathroom, even though they had already been prior to class. The joke was “well I’ve had a baby, everyone leaks!” What I have learned and now teach is leakage and other complaints are no joke, they are actual symptoms. I feel fortunate to be able to educate and share corrective solutions with women who don’t know or understand the condition. I love that our clients experience positive change which improves their quality of life.
Another reason I am passionate about being a PFT Pelvic Health Coach is I spent years by my best friend’s side helping and assisting her while she endured chronic pain, surgeries and a diminished quality of life while doctors were telling her nothing was wrong with her. I deeply felt her frustration and sadly saw her live through early pelvic organ prolapse. Her symptoms started when she was very young (age 26), so who knew? There truly was no answer until 25 years later when we learned that it all had to do with pelvic floor dysfunction. If we had only known then what we know now, how her life could have changed!
Most recently my own sister experienced symptoms of back pain that was so severe she ended up in the emergency room. After enduring a MRI, multiple tests and exams, she was diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse that was surgical. She is now recovering and learning safe, common sense methods to improve muscular integrity and strength.
My goal is to coach you, train you and watch you gain confidence enabling you to implement behavioral and lifestyle changes so you are in control of your health and life.
